In our Lightning Dream Group this evening, we talked about how to remember our dreams better, by learning how to explore dreams in a conscious dream state. I shared how one can learn to hang out in the twilight zone, that stage between waking and dreaming, before dropping off to sleep or waking in the morning. It is a very useful practice to learn how to become a conscious dreamer. I shared an experience where I was exploring that liminal place of the twilight zone, known as the hypnagogic or hypnopompic state. It was here, that I found myself in a dark, vast, space where seemingly nothing was to be seen, but something on the edge of my awareness caught my attention. It was a faint pink light on the edge of my awareness, and when I honed in to get a closer look, I found a pink web like material that had an energy to it which felt kind and loving. I wanted to explore more about it and stepped through this weblike material to find myself entering into another reality. I looked down at my hands a saw a mysterious book held there. It was a leather bound book which read, The Book Of Uriel. When I opened it, I saw a picture of a beautiful castle. I suddenly found myself magically transported to the scene I was viewing. Now I am walking a tree swept path along a lazy river, where a roman styled bridge provides passage to the other side. I am now standing in front of a beautiful castle with black turrets supported by sturdy, aged, white stones. I feel an intense longing and familiarity with this place and an incredible desire to return to this place, I know I am only visiting.
After sharing this experience, a woman in our group declares she has been researching Uriel online today and has ordered a book. The next person in our group shares a dream in which she is the architect of a church in a repeating dream, where she is creating some kind of community. We discuss how architects were so instrumental in preserving mysticism and designing cathedrals where sacred geometry was used to create a space for direct contact with the divine. Dreams also provide this kind of space where one can visit locations in the imaginal realm to go and learn from spiritual teachers who have passed on in this realm, but their schools remain hidden in the realm of dreams, yet open to those who know the pathway there. Another dreamer who arrived late to our group, came in and shared he had been trying to find the music and words to a song that was about Uriel, and the other Archangels. Interesting synchronicity at play in this group, surely there are angels among us tonight. We took this as an invitation to go deeper and so we explored a conscious group dream journey together as I held open this sacred space drumming us deeper into the dream realms. We were able to enter the realm of angels, where each person had their own deeply profound and meaningful experience connecting with the archangels, and one even brought the goddess Sarasvati into her dreaming. The path of dreams is truly magical and profound and I am deeply grateful to the powers which surround us and the dreamers willing to commune with the likes of Arch Angels and Goddesses.
