Entering the Mythic Mind with Serendipity and Serenity

August 8, 2026

On the night of the Lions Gate, I had this dream where a modern mythic story unfolded, taking me into another story I didn’t know I needed, just like Serendipity, which also shined a light on the nature of Serenity.

Identical twin sisters named Serendipity and Serenity, were introduced to me in dreaming, and their story unfolded. Both with blonde chin length French bob haircuts, deep blue eyes like the sea, ivory skin like satin, with round pleasing features where they should be. Young and voluptuous women in their twenties pleasing to the eyes. Sexy and innocent looking to most, they hold a power of beauty embodied as Goddesses, or Faery Queens, or Jinns, where something perplexing yet potent is felt when encountered that sinks into your consciousness like Marilyn Monroe.

Serendipity has a boyfriend, who accompanies her. He looks like a strait laced, educated career city planner, headed towards politics wearing leather dress shoes, a tan suit and a Stetson fedora that was essential attire for professionals in the fifties. He holds rolled up plans for a city project he is working on getting through, and Serendipity is helping him. His plan is a good one that will benefit the people, he is looking to develop sustainable change. He also has his career plans mapped out in his head too, he expects this project will move him on a trajectory towards his ambitions of getting elected to local office.

Marilyn Monroe in the Asphalt Jungle in 1950. The film won a golden Lion Award in Venice.

Serendipity is helping him by tracking ahead along possible outcomes for his planning project he has in his hands, to reroute any obstacles in play, like Google Maps. There isn’t anything she can’t handle, but the main situation that is a challenge is the public opposition to the project. He needs the public behind the project and Serenity is the only one who can change people’s minds when they are agitated, and bring peace of mind to accept change. Serenity, on the other hand, is not about to bring the stability or sustainability required to bring about the plan at hand. The architectural drawing of the development the handsome city planner has in mind is getting ready to present at a city hall meeting. He wants to take Serenity with him, but she is no where to be found, because she is not lasting. Peace of mind changes like the weather and comes and goes with the tide.

He believes he cannot bring about his plan without Serenity, he thinks he needs the twin energy of both Serenity and Serendipity. He relies on his partner Serendipity, but when he goes in search of Serenity, she is hard to find. She is like a misty morning covering all, as the light shines through a gentle dawn breaks open a beautiful day, with perfect weather, and waking up from a the most peaceful dream, to start the day.

The planner cannot find her in these moments, she has become the dawn and covers all with her beautiful light. As the day moves on and a harsher light beats down, she can now be seen in her human form again. Serenity has another side that is disruptive and conniving. Her shapeshifting nature is a trickster of our own folly, to help bring us back to our selves. She holds up a mirror of what we try to hide, unable to face ourselves. She guides us back to Serenity, by helping us face what we try to hide.

Because humans are not to be trusted, long term Serenity is out of the picture I’m afraid. Serenity was born first, so she is the oldest, and wisest, but it does not seem so, because she doesn’t act like you would expect. She enjoys playing tricks and laughing at your expense. Serendipity on the other hand, is more mature because she is a more reliable partner. Always showing up when you need her, she tracks along possible pathways to see what is in store for you, and intervenes at just the right moment of luck to bring about the best opportunities for the soul purpose to thrive. She shows up with her unresistable charm and trusted council to allay fears and doubts and boost confidence. She has a certain magic about her that is both mysterious and confounding, setting your life down paths in connection with people and places you never knew you needed. She shows up just in the nick of time. A relief that is so welcome and does not require beliefs. EOD

Serendipity goes by Saran for short. Her name means dwelling place of Lion’s island. Her name is also known as Sarandip or Serendip for the island of Sri Lanka, where the Sinhala people reside. The word Sarandip comes from Persian language, and the word Serendipity comes from a Persian Fairytale called the Three Princes of Serendip from the Book of the Eight Paradises by Amir Khusrau, a famous Persian poet from the 1300’s. More and more Saran appears to be a Jinn. The word Serendipity was coined by a British author in the 1500’s from reading the Persian fairytale, where the story depicts situations where fate shines among the three princes when they are able to discern the past and solve challenges in the present and the future through their powers of perception towards favorable ends.

Three Princes of Sarandip

Through Serendipity this dream came on the night of the Lions Gate to bring through a modern day fairytale of Serendipity and Serenity, which lead me to the ancient Persian fairytale for the Three Princes of Sendip, meaning the people who dwell on Lions Island in what is also known as Sri Lanka. No Lions dwell there, but Sri Lanka was along the trade routes between Persia, India and Sri Lanka. The symbol for ancient Persia is a Sun Rising over a Lion, which represents the Sun in Leo, as we are currently. The Persian Lions gate resides in Lebanon, and the Greek Lions Gate resides in Mycenia, and the Lions gate in the Old City of Jerusalem leads to Bab al Asbat (the gate of the tribes), or Bab Sitna Maryam, it functions as the entrance to the Temple Mount, and the start of the Christian Pilgrimage route for Via Dolorosa, and the Jewish pathway to Kidron Valley, and the Mount of Olives. Given the war we are currently in started by Israel in Iran supported by the U.S. the Lions gate may be opening energies that have been exchanging for centuries.

Lions Gate as a crossroads at the Old City of Jerusalem

In the story of the three Princes of Seredip, there is a significant part of the story that involves a big hand hovering over India each morning, intimidating all who reside, and at night comes and snatches people out of their bed. This authoritarian show of force and public fear, is seen in many countries right now including the U.S. In the story the second prince decides to confront the giant hand, by simply raising his hand as a victory sign, or perhaps as a peace sign. This small act of resistance revealed the Big Hand is not as powerful as it wants us to believe, and shows signs of both resistance and victory against authoritarian governments watching our every move, threatening with removal from our homes, and removing our freedoms. Another significant part of the story is the magic mirror that the King uses to find out who is lying and dole out punishments to those who try to lie and hide. This part of the story is about Justice, and how Serenity, who also holds up a magic mirror to reflect what we are hiding. Without Justice, we cannot have peace. We cannot have sustainable community without peace of mind, where our rights and freedoms are protected. Serendipity and Serenity brings ancient presence of wisdom that can see beyond the limited mind, and track ahead to possible pathways, where we can be pointed down soul pathways of wisdom for sustainable peace and justice

Rolling Thunder had stood up for justice in his day, to demand freedom for his Shosone brothers who were locked up for refusing to fight an imperial U.S. war against Vietnam. Rolling Thunder was a Medicine Man and an activist for indigenous rights and the environment. He was known to have abilities such as effecting the weather by calling in the rain, the wind and the lightning. He demanded the release of his brothers and when the guards did not heed his call, he summoned the powers of the sky, and called a tornado directly toward the prison.

The guards became so frightened they let the two Shoshone men go they held prisoner. I looked to the story of Rolling Thunder for inspiration as I drummed an African Beat called Kaki Lambe on my Jimbe Drum, it is an African drumbeat used to call to spirits for assistance in times of dire need. My partner, Hadi Jawad, had taught me the rythmn and it was his strong desire that we bring the drums so that the children inside could hear us drumming through the thick.

After the last song was sung of the candle light vigil, we moved in the direction of leaving after a full day of drumming, protesting, singing and vigiling. The sun was going down and it was starting to get cold. Suddenly, something began to happen, instead of the crowd dispersing, people began to spontaneously move toward the doors of the prison demanding to speak to the warden! We joined in the movement of protestors toward the front door where official vehicles tried to block our path. We boldly walked around them as water flows around stones, we also crossed over the line we were “officially” told to stay behind. The crowd moved right up to the doors of the prison and people began to open the doors and fill into the building singing Feliz Navidad and chanting solidarity forever! Many people still holding candles aflame from the candlelight vigil we had finished just shortly before. People then began shouting, “Bring in the Toys!” A flood of Christmas toys began to appear with people carrying boxes and bags of toys overflowing. The gifts and were brought inside from the 200 or so protesters who had come from all around Texas to make their voices heard against the immorality of imprisoning families. This experience of breaking through the prison doors was elating to all those who came to participate in the vigil. Spirit was among us, and flying high this day just as the eagle had foretold.

This movement that took us right through the front doors of the prison may have begun from the flap of a butterfly’s wings in Mexico. Mariposa means butterfly and it also means soul. It is said that the butterflies who migrate South to Mexico are the returning souls of lost children. To the Native People sacred law states that children shall always be protected and that no harm shall come to the children.

Free The Children!

Let me share with you this beautiful song that was sang as one of the closing songs during the candlelight vigil.

Circle round for freedom,

Circle round for peace,

for all of those imprisoned,

Circle for release.

Circle round the Planet,

For the children of our children,

Keep the Circle Whole.
