The Triple Spiral and Cosmic Web

The Triple Spiral is said to be an ancient symbol from the Neolithic era, which means Earth, Sea and Sky, or Life, Death, and Rebirth, or Body, Mind, and Soul. The Yellow and Black Garden Spider is also known as the Writer Spider who can inscribe designs in the center of her massive web, that often appear in doorways. The triple spiral is also known to signify the triple Goddess. I have been drawing spirals since I can first recall as a child, a kind of soothing doodle, or perhaps ancestral memory. While it is well known as a symbol inside New Grange, this ancient symbol can be found in ancient designs across cultures.

Blowing In the Wind 4-21-26

In a recent dream, I saw a massive web in front of the door to the retreat center where I had just finished teaching this past weekend.

The wind blew the web away from the door, as the bottom had come untethered and the web blew free in the wind. I became conscious in the dream. I noticed the doorway of the retreat center, where a rainbow unity flag had hung, but now held a triple spiral design in the center of the web that covered the doorway. The huge web blowing in the wind felt like an invitation from spirit to be guided on the next strand of my journey guided by the great weaver, Grandmother Spider, the old one who weaves the world into being, and leaves her invisible threads as paths to travel in dreams as a bridge between time and place, and between Earth, Sky and Sea. What is written in the center of her web becomes a spell of creation, or a mystery into the unknown.

Cosmic Web

The first night of the retreat, I had a powerful dream journey with lots of energy coming through with the stellium of seven planets in Aries and the New Moon. A  cosmic web was shown in the stars, and a typical yellow and black garden spider sat in the middle of the web, waiting for me. The center of the web had a single thread, which out of that there was two other webs coming up from behind, and connected to this original web next to me. Three webs connected by a single strand. The energy these webs held were shimmering before me in rainbow colors.

Neolithic Dreaming with the Ancestors

The Dream web is interesting, and the energy intense. When I saw the web in my dream, strung before the door of the retreat, with the Triple Spiral woven into the center, it seemed connected to my journey guided by the drum, which opened the retreat where the spider first appeared in the center of a cosmic web that was strung across the galaxy by a single thread woven into two other giant star webs vibrating with energy. Three webs of galactic energy.

The last guided journey of the retreat was tracking sacred sites on the Earth by way of ley lines, as a mode of dream travel. I first visited New Grange, Ireland in my dream travels, and saw the triple spiral inside the Neolithic tomb, guided there by strands of energy ley lines. Perhaps this is a favorable wind blowing the dreaming web in the direction of my Irish ancestors at the sacred site of New Grange, Ireland and the Neolithic tomb where the mysterious triple spiral rests.

Triple Spiral at New Grange

Some of my Irish ancestors are traced back to New Castle in the Boyne Valley, not far from New Grange. I had recently told a friend in Ireland that I would like to visit New Grange next time I visit. We are planning for me to come to Ireland in the coming year to offer a retreat on Collaborative Dreaming with the Otherworld.

Certainly we will delve into the mysteries of New Grange as a cosmic sanctuary of the Sun and the Seasons, and the energy ley lines that connect sacred sites together and the web of energies that exist in the land and the stars as maps to travel in dreaming to the in between and the Otherworldly places interwoven with the Earth, Sea, and Sky in Ireland. In my dream journey, I tracked many ley lines through Celtic lands, from New Grange, Ireland to Stonehenge, England to Chartres Cathedral, France and the Rose lines of Southern France. All ancestral territories in my blood lines.

The invisible threads cast by Grandmother Spider are a wide web of collaboration in dreaming with the lands of my ancestors.

Cross Cultural Ley Line Connections

Many years ago, I recall a big dream which had me looking at the ground from above. I could see Stonehenge as a sacred site from which energy lines were connected to other sacred sites across Europe and around the world. At the time, I did not know anything about ley lines, but did a research paper on labyrinths and ley lines in college, inspired by the dream to learn more.

I also researched about mandalas and the collective unconscious model of Carl Jung, within a mythopoetic lens of mapping culture which includes ties to Navaho Sand Painting Rituals and Tibetan Sand Mandala Rituals of impermanence and healing, and how tracing language across centuries found roots of similar language between Asian and Dine. Ley lines of language perhaps, and ley lines of migration. All these dreams and studies had me looking to my dreams to tune into the bigger picture.

Mystic Valley Cathedral

This theme of dreaming with sacred sites and tracking ley lines in dreaming has been an ongoing experience for me in dreams. A class I took on art history had a project where we had to design from sacred architecture from any time and place we wished, and write our own story about the history of the place. My project was based on the Chartres Cathedral, which I chose because of the labyrinth held inside. My project design called Mystic Valley Cathedral, involved not only the Architecture of the Cathedral, but the stories of the land that existed there from Druids prior to the Cathedral being built on top of it, and how it is a sacred site connected to other sacred sites through Ley lines and water lines or springs. I wrote of an ancient grove of trees that still resided there as the original sanctuary, and standing stones that remain nearby as portals to an ancient time and place. I included in my design the natural spring that feeds the cathedral chapel to mother Mary as a place of healing connected to the healing spring beneath. I discovered later, much of the story I wrote of Mystic Valley Cathedral, was a remembering of the stories of the land which were in fact true, unbeknownst to me at the time. For instance, the Druid connection, and colonizing sacred sites for the Catholic Church, and the underground spring as a source of healing waters for the chapel of Mother Mary. The 7 circuit labyrinth in the main cathedral dates back to Crete and Egypt, and is a mystic design held in those cultures, as pathways of initiation through the underworld as pathways of rebirth, or transmigration of the soul. This wisdom was taken over by the church as a path to God in the center, however the original meanings for a mystic otherworldly journey of the soul still remains held deep within the design.

Dreamtime Visit

I was visited in waking reality, while sitting up in bed preparing to go to sleep, a stream of purple lightning flashed through my bedroom and an aboriginal dream traveler stood outside my bedroom window looking in. He was asking permission to take me into the Dreamtime. I was willing and when I lay down and closed my eyes, I immediately found myself transported to another location in dreaming. I stood before a small group of red boulders, with red dirt all around and a small fire was burning. The dream traveler who invited me into his dream, stood beside me. He said we were there to do a spiritual naming ceremony for my four year old daughter, and I had been invited there as her mother and witness. She was offered gifts that had been made for her, including a dreaming web woven between a forked branch with shells inside. I was not privy to her spiritual name, as it was known only to her and kept secret for her protection. When the ceremony completed, I was returned back home.

Aborigine Dreamtime Painting

Reflecting back upon this experience, I can see the presence of energetic ley lines as sources of dream travel, and the destination as Uluru, a site sacred to the aboriginal people in Australia. This journey of awakening the sacred dream has me traveling to many places around the Earth in waking and dreaming realities, and those who visit me in dreams by tracking sacred energies.

Another instance occurred when a lightning storm was right over our home, and as I was going to sleep, I felt the tug of the lightning storm overhead, and a presence within was reaching out to me. I felt the pull of this energy bring me right into the center of the storm where a portal of blue energy was circling. I waited to see what was coming through the portal and saw a small nerdy looking man step forth. It was Nikolai Tesla, and he began to share information with me about the storm, as a transfer of energy from sacred sites, to this location. He explained that the energy on the planet is shifting in terms of sacred sites and where they are held. I certainly agreed that would be transformative if sacred energies were held in Dallas as a sacred reservoir of energy.

There is in fact a place in downtown Dallas that holds archetypal energies at a place called Pegasus plaza park. The location has a stream flowing through that originates in a spiral, and a huge quartz crystal cluster is nearby. There are sculptures that embody the nine muses, in a boulder like shape. The project was created by archetypal psychologist Gail Smith who was among the founders of the Dallas Institute for Humanities. The Pegasus is the symbol for Dallas, and the story of Pegasus that when he lands his hoof on the Earth, is the spot from which a spring flowed and the nine muses emerged. In mythic fashion, when they broke ground for building the park, they found a spring was flowing underneath which continues to feed the waters flowing forth from the spiral.

The ley lines and dream lines that intersect in physical reality and mythic realms or Dreamtime, are a crossroads we can visit to bring forth inspiration, healing, and collaboration to create within the dream of our community that is happening right now and intersects with the past, present and future. We have only to enter the dream to bring it forth, and embody our dreams with the abundant gifts of the muses.

Vein of Gold

The way to the Vein of Gold opens in dreaming, revealed by my higher self as a path of deep creativity and spiritual energy. An alchemical energy hidden within the Earth.

May 10, 2023

I am looking at a vein of gold from above, held deep inside the Earth. I am shown a map of two pathways which lead to the vein of gold. Once I chose a path in my mind, I am standing before the way. A stone is the entry point. I move with ease into the stone surface, becoming like the osseous rock, I am able to enter the crevice where the gold is found. In the dream, I do this over and over, practicing how to traverse this pathway of stone deep inside the Earth, becoming layers of stone to reach the vein of gold. Once there, I feel a deep satisfaction and happiness within myself. I notice the destination is a large and spacious cave, and a Chinese man is there to greet me. He asks me how I knew how to get here. He says we from the East, have been coming here for a very long time, but people from the West, rarely know how to get here. I told him, I dreamed myself here!

I explained how my dream showed me two paths I could follow in order to get there. I practiced in my dreams, over and over, following the path, so I would know how to find the path to locate the vein of gold. In my case, that involved becoming rock, moving through the solid, to find the movement held inside it. Becoming like the osseous surface that can breath in and out, shifting with each breath, and by becoming one with the rock surface, my awareness became fluid movement in the direction of my destination.

“At its essence, art is an alchemical process. By practicing art, by living artfully, we realize our vein of gold.”

— The Vein of Gold: A Journey to Your Creative Heart (Artist’s Way) by Julia Cameron

The interaction with the Chinese man in the cave at the heart of the vein of gold, had me researching Chinese alchemy from a Taoist view. I discovered the vein of gold mentioned as a Taoist concept, which brings together the elements as a way of becoming one with our environment, and physical reality, and a path towards immortality. The Taoist masters taught about becoming, through receiving and letting go. Not a path to produce, accomplish, and consume, as we in the West are prone to do.

The history of the Vein of Gold in ancient Chinese Taoism identifies a vein of gold as akin to dragon lines of energy connected with an alchemical approach to longevity and immortality, which was the inward and physical goal of mystic Taoism. The vein of gold associated with the Dragon lines, known also as ley lines, are energy lines connected to Earth and Sky. A map between the worlds of inner and outer experience. Connection to this vein of gold, may also center in a cave of the ancestors, where reservoirs of spiritual power can be found, and held within the Earth, where perhaps my dream guided me.

One of its most important goals of Taoist painting was revealing qi, variously known as the “Breath of Heaven,” the “Breath of Nature” or the “Quality of Spirit.” According to one painting manual, “qi is as basic as the way [people] are formed and so it is with rocks, which are the framework of the heavens and of earth, and also have qi. That is the reason rocks are sometimes spoken of as ‘roots of the clouds.’ Rocks without qi are dead rocks, as bones without the same vivifying spirit are dry bare bones. How could a cultivated person paint a lifeless rock…rocks must be alive.”

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao;
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth.
The named is the mother of ten thousand things.

Ever desireless, one can see the mystery.

Ever desiring, one can see the manifestations.

The Black Jaguar and the Shaman Stone

BPanther

Another big cat visited me in my dreaming recently, a black Jaguar. This was another old friend who I was glad to see, and who I knew from many years ago, when I first stepped onto the path of Shamanic dreaming at 25 years old. In that dream from long ago, the black jaguar was stalking me, hunting me and devouring me, tearing me limb from limb. This is a traditional form of initiation onto the path of Shamanic realms of dreaming. Being torn limb from limb by a power animal is a kind of re-membering and re-birthing into a new form, one which holds natural paths of primal energy. These energy paths are also connected with the earth and universal energy, perhaps even parallel universes.

In my recent dream, I was aware this black jaguar was a teacher and he was showing himself to me in his animal form. He could shapeshift back into a man, but in this dream he was teaching me through the stealth of the black jaguar. He gave me a flat, slate colored stone about the size of my abdomen. I held it in my hands and could see the design of a map carved in an ancient language. This map is an earth energy grid, which I sense are also connected with interstellar energy grids. I was being shown how to use this tool to navigate the dream realms.  In ancient traditions the world over, the dream world is the real world and known as a place where the waking world gets created. I felt the ancient origins of this energy map written into this stone, and I felt it’s connection to me and my life and the familiar black jaguar standing next to me. The grounding power of the black jaguar and the ancient shaman stone was a gift and a teaching that I was being entrusted to learn how to use and one which I would need to learn in order to gain access to the spaces my path has set before me on the mysterious path of the shaman’s stone.

I was intrigued by the gift of this sacred object and now have set foot on a path of discovery for understanding this mysterious ancient map. Upon further examination, there seems to be no end to the maps contained in this ancient stone. When peering more deeply into the stone, as perhaps one would do with a scrying stone, I was able to see layer upon layer of maps held inside. I knew I was looking at inter-dimensional maps for traveling to other realms. I then held the stone like a scrying tablet, positioned before my solar plexus, while concentrating my intention onto the multidimensional maps and suddenly found myself transported to another location in dreaming.
