Merry Meet Mabon

The Fall is here, and normally we would be so excited about this season where we can look forward to so many festivals and family celebrations, but in 2020 nothing is the same as what we have known before.

We are exhausted, our country is grieving, and we are grappling with how to move forward with our lives as individuals, as communities, and as a country. We are having to look at every part of our lives right now, no stone is unturned, to see the systemic injustices, environmental impacts, feeling the economic downturn, losing loved ones and fearing impacts from the pandemic. This reveals our class system, the racism, the sexism, all the isms. It appears our World is really out of balance.

This is where the Autumn Equinox comes in, as a point of focus, to remind us the universe, and nature herself is always seeking balance. We are in a place where vision is crucial as we move forward. This is a portal we can explore in connection with the otherworld, or the world behind the world, when the veil is thin and the ancestors are near.

Mabon is a Celtic Fall Seasonal Celebration known as the 2nd Harvest. The 1st being in August for Lamas, and the 3rd being on October 31st for Samhain, when the harvest of souls takes place with the Wild Hunt, and the good folk come through from the Other world. A time when Winter and the Celtic New Year begins. It should be particularly Wild this year as it is a Full Blue Moon in Taurus on Samhain. We celebrate the 2nd Harvest on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020 with gratitude and sharing, releasing and healing, to help bring life back into balance. Incubate a dream and ask, what do I need to do to help bring my world, and the world behind the world, back into balance. The role of the shaman or witch or healer, is to help bring the unseen worlds into balance with the Earthly realms, and thereby protecting the community. When calamity and despair, disease and disgrace starts to appear, it is time to look into the otherworld to see what prayers need to be spoken, or forgiveness asked, permission granted, or repayment of some kind offered. This is a kind of justice, and what we can offer now, will determine what we are able to receive later. So join me in celebrating Mabon and creating balance in our world, and don’t forget to vote this season!

Buddha Purnima

Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth. – Buddha

The May Full Moon celebrates the Birth, enlightenment and death of Siddhartha Guatama Buddha. It is a day celebrated and honored at many countries across the world. A time during which the Buddha is known to return to the Earthly realm.

The conception of Buddha to Queen Maya, was foretold in a dream, that of a white elephant with six tusks entering her right side. Her dream was interpreted that she would give birth to a world leader or a Buddha.

I recall a lucid dream from years ago, where I looked down at my legs and saw they were the wrinkled legs of a white elephant. I was amazed! I heard a voice say, don’t you know you do this all the time…..Shapeshift???

This Scorpio Full Moon is a time of dreaming, what we will give birth to the world. A time for the truth to be revealed, to look into the darkness and see what we are truly aligned with becoming and living as a unique individual, as a compassionate human being, and as part of the Earth community of the natural world. The term Buddha means “awakened one” and when we become conscious dreamers, we are on the path toward understanding the mystic nature of reality. Like the Moon, our dreams can help us reflect light into the darkness.  Our conscious dream travels can also guide us into the heavenly realms of experience with spiritual teachers, and divine beings, or the deepest depths of the Ocean, in connection with primordial feminine wisdom.

My celebration of Purnima, was a beautiful full moon ceremony guided by Bhola, a beloved shamanic teacher from Nepal. He guided us on a journey into the bottom of the sea, where we met up with a giant conch shell, and entered into a deep ancient wisdom, spiraling deeper under ground at the bottom of the Ocean. In my journey, I experienced a tremendous wave of rainbow energy enter my being and offering healing in my womb, and then traveling up into my solar plexus and throat and ears, and finally coming out through my third eye as a cobra. My body began to shake from the energy rising through me. I then saw 4 Naga spirits dancing as they rose into the ethers, carrying me with them. I was given several white wind horses to travel upon, like a wave or a cloud. I was told to continue to travel with the wind horses. I felt my spirit rise with the freedom of spiritual adventure, and the beautiful energy surrounding me. Lung-Ta in Tibet is the name given for prayer flags and means wind horse. The Nagi are semi-divine serpent beings, known to give special powers, and guard treasures under the sea.

I returned from this journey with such gratitude, feeling relaxed and nurtured, and a deep sense of healing and belonging in myself.

A few days previous to this full moon shamanic journey, I was taking a nap and recalled a dream from years ago, of discovering a mysterious blue starfish. The starfish was held inside an ancient carved lava rock alcove alongside a beach. I walked into the alcove to get a closer look and when I did, I discovered the fossilized starfish had awoken, and was looking back at me. I took the starfish from out of the stone alcove and set it on my shoulder. I began whispering sweet loving words to the starfish to return her to her human form. Hearing those loving words, while being carried on my shoulder, helped her remember how much she is loved, and she changed back into a Grandmother. I returned her to her village, where she was received with loving, open arms.

Upon waking, I thought it was important to revisit this dream story, by creating artwork to depict the story. At that moment, a friend contacted me and wanted to schedule a private session with me together with her and her 6 year old daughter. We agreed to a time to journey together in sacred space, and I told her of just awakening from a nap where I was recalling my dream story of the blue starfish, that was meant to be a children’s story.  She mentioned her daughter had just the other day, been talking about wanting to search for starfish on the beach. I took the message of synchronicity, that we were meant to journey into the ocean realms on a magical mermaid journey with the moon and the stars. Together we journeyed guided by the sound of the drum, held by the bright moon above, and we delved into visiting a treasure filled sea cave in the magical ocean realms of mermaid. In my journey, I saw the blue starfish at the end, which was actually a falling star from the heavens, and 2 gold coins left by the mermaid.  The very next day, I found myself journeying to the bottom of the sea, into an ancient conch shell. On the altar for the journey to the bottom of the sea, part of the offerings I was told to prepare, included 2 coins. Namaste

Dream Warrior

In a conscious dream, I was focused on a golden skinned, bare chested, bald headed man, who sat relaxed on a stone, as he held a long spear. His mysterious golden eyes stared off into the distance. Suddenly, he turned his gaze toward me, an observer in the dream and not visible. He claimed, “I see you!”

This turn of events was quite surprising for me, and brought my awareness back into my body, awakening me from my sleep. I could still feel the force of his gaze on me and the words he threw in my direction. I began to realize what this could mean, if I could see him in his time, he could also see me. In other words, I am dreaming him, and he is dreaming me. Woah!

This dream visit was perhaps a time travel excursion to a parallel life. It felt like an important connection, and I wondered about his unusual golden eyes.

When I thought about it, they reminded me of the eyes of a lion.

Shortly after this mysterious dream, I facilitated a workshop in which I offered shamanic group dream journeys through each of the chakras, guided by the sound of the drum. While drumming for the crown chakra journey, my dream re-appeared immediately and my dream warrior, became a trusted guide. I found myself in the upper realm in an ancient temple, carved into the side of a mountain. Which I found upon later research, highly resembles the ancient Lycian tombs in Turkey, which were at one time part of the ancient Grecco-Roman World, as reflected in the architectural style of the tombs resembling Greek Temples.

Lycian Tombs Of Caunos, Dalyan, Mugla, Turkey

Carved into the side of this mountain is also perhaps the people who were buried in this tomb city. A relief carving shows a bald headed shirtless warrior holding a spear, much like my dream warrior.

Inside the temple, I was instructed to lay down on a stone platform in the center of the room. When I did, eight doors of golden light opened and surrounded me in the temple. My dream warrior came over next to me and shape shifted into a beautiful Lion with golden eyes, there to guard and protect me as I journeyed forth through the portals of light. I came out of the dream ceremony and my dream warrior was stood before me once again. He gave me a scroll, which I opened and it read, “Go Out!” A portal of golden light appeared, blazing before me, inviting me to step through once again. I have been given an initiation into the light, and an invitation to step through these solar portals, into further exploration of the heavenly realms.
